Dana Plato – Suicide

Dana Plato became a popular name back in 1978 after portraying the character Kimberly Drummond on the famous NBC sitcom, Diff’rent Strokes. The series easily became a huge hit at that time. In fact, it aired for a total eight seasons and led to another hit spin-off series, The Facts of Life. Both series were very successful. However, when Diff’rent Strokes ended, Plato found herself struggling, feeling lost to some degree.

Later on, she developed bad habits and in 1999, she took her own life at the age of 34. However, the image etched in the minds of her fans will always be the sweet and charismatic young lady.
