John Cazale – Lung Cancer

John Cazale was a hardworking actor, who received credits for five different films within a span of six years. If this wasn’t enough, all his five movies received nominations from the Academy Award for Best Picture.

These movies were The Godfather, The Conversation, The Godfather Part II, Dog Day Afternoon, and The Deer Hunter. Cazale consistently received recognition for his outstanding performances throughout his career. However, he was diagnosed with lung cancer in 1977. Just a year after, he lost the battle against the dreaded disease.
