John Karlen – Congestive Heart Failure

John Karlen became famous for playing Willie Loomis in the soap opera Dark Shadows. He also played Tyne Daly’s husband in the classic sitcom Cagney & Lacey. Before that, he made his acting debut in 1960 on the stage of a Broadway production titled Sweet Bird of Youth.

John passed away in January 2020 in hospice care in Burbank, California. According to reports, he had suffered a degree of health issues in the past decade. A spokesperson from the family later confirmed the cause of death as congestive heart failure. He was 86 at the time of his passing.
