Celebs Who Turned Their Backs on Hollywood to Work Regular Jobs

Rick Moranis | Stay-At-Home Dad

Rick Moranis was a popular actor during the 1980s and 1990s. He appeared in numerous iconic films such as Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Parenthood, The Flintstones, Spaceballs, and many more. Rick is also notable for his memorable acting credit in the Ghostbusters film franchise. You could say that he was an up-and-coming actor who was bound for Hollywood stardom.

However, in 1997, Rick decided to take a long hiatus from acting. He took some time off so that he could dedicate his time and attention to his two children. Unfortunately, during that year, his wife passed away, and he had to step up and quickly adapt to the needs of his kids. Despite being a stay-at-home dad, Rick managed to keep working on his creative side by providing voice-over work for various projects, including the 2003 Disney movie Brother Bear.
